Stitches in Time: Needlework Art
An exhibition of knitting, needlework and embroidery featuring the work of Eugenia Petit Munier and her daughter Therese from the collection of Pat Kirmer, with pieces from the museum's collection, the Ausable Valley knitting group, and the Lake Placid Elementary school.

Town of Keene Bicentennial Exhibit
An exhibition honoring the Bicentennial of the Town of Keene in 2008.

Ways of the Woods - Visit the Ways of the Woods website by clicking HERE
A traveling exhibition from the Northern Forest Center about the changing relationship between people and the land. The "exhibition on wheels" arrives in a 53-foot truck for visitors to board and includes special programs and demonstrations.

Early Adirondack Stereoviews
Nineteenth century stereo images including work by Seneca Ray Stoddard and George W. Baldwin from the collection of Guenther Bauer and the museum's collection.

2007 Traveling Cover Art Show from the Arts Council on the Northern Adirondacks.

Performance Tour: Bits & Pieces
Actors lead visitors on a dramatic tour of the museum. New performance piece for 2007 directed by Lindsay Pontius. Reservation required.

Encampment: Lewis Civil War Days
Re-enactors, lectures and other activities at the Fish and Game Club in Lewis, N.Y. Contact Phil Jackson at (518) 873-6849 for more information. Objects related to the Civil War veterans of Essex County are on display at the museum.

Lecture: Maxim Gorki in New York
Alexander Fodor, former professor of Russian language and literature at McGill University presents the life of Russian revolutionary, Maxim Gorki. During Gorki's time in the Adirondacks, he wrote his masterpiece, Mother, in 1906. Reservations suggested.

Lecture: Stereo Photographs of the Adirondacks
An illustrated talk by Guenther Bauer, researcher and author, on the work produced by Adirondack photographers George W. Baldwin and Seneca Ray Stoddard. Reservations suggested.

Lecture: The Underground Railroad on Lake Champlain
Presented at the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum in Plattsburgh, N.Y., sponsored by the Essex County Historical Society,
the North Country Underground Railroad Historical Association , and the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum. A Canal Splash! event of the New York State Canal Corporation, a series of state-wide events designed to highlight the history, beauty, culture and
recreational appeal of the NYS Canal System.

Ferry rides on Lake Champlain on The Weatherwax, a replica sail ferry, with stories of the Underground Railroad. Weather permitting. Reservations required.
