What We Offer

We are committed to making the Library accessible to the public, while adhering to the highest standards of current special collections and archival practices for our precious materials.

Actively, we encourage the community to explore the past by utilizing our diverse resources. We offer a variety of research services for personal, commercial, and/or non-profit researchers for a nominal fee. These fees aid in the preservation, conservation, and continual project of digitizing our special collections Library & Archives.

Items of particular interest to researchers in our collection include:
Biographical & Subject vertical files
Cemetery Index (not complete)
Books, Manuscripts, and Photographs
Federal census from 1790 to 1910 (microfilm)

Please be advised, if you are looking for birth, death, or marriage records, we do not have them. New York State was not required to keep those records until after 1880, and are kept by town clerks and the New York State Archives.

We also do not have naturalization records which can be researched through the National Archives website. We encourage you to explore the New York State Archives and the National Archives websites for the above documents.

Additionally, we continually encourage and invite scholars to explore our research library. An index of our sample holdings can be found HERE.

The majority of this information cannot be found on the world wide web, so please contact us if you are interested in pursuing any of those particular topics for school projects, theses or doctoral dissertations, we are always happy to help and guide scholars in the right direction in order to fulfill their educational needs!
